Friends of Sutton Park

Giving a historic park community a clearer identity rooted in place.

Friends of Sutton Park is a volunteer-led group supporting one of the West Midlands’ most recognised natural and historic spaces. This concept explores how the organisation could create a clearer, more recognisable presence across visitor and volunteer communication.

the opportunity

Sutton Park has a strong character of its own. The wooded areas, heathland, varied terrain and lakes create a place people across the region recognise and value. The identity needed to connect the group more closely with that character.

the response

The mark combines the familiar tree cluster, layered landforms and a blue water shape. Deep green creates an established foundation, while brighter green and blue add energy and make the system practical across public settings.

the application

The identity was developed across wayfinding, volunteer clothing, tote bags, enamel mugs and park vehicles, showing how the group could build a consistent presence across conservation activity and visitor engagement.
